A Beautiful Wisconsin Day

May 17

Kickapoocarride

Today, Myles and I rode with Dad through the green valleys
around our house. It is so beautiful living here in Wisconsin.
I wish my friends in Tuvalu would visit me this summer.  I know they would love it here.  I could also teach them about foraging for different edible plants up the valley and in the prairie.

The winter might be too cold for them but I think they would enjoy snow shoeing, sledding and even ice fishing too.

School report on Tuvalu

Sep 17

Today was family report day. My report was on Tuvalu the country where I was born. I told my classmates about my family that lives in Funa Futi. FunaFuti is both the name of an island and the capital of Tuvalu. Tuvalu is a beautiful, tropical country made up of nine islands in the middle of the South Pacific near New Zealand and the island of Fiji. Tuvaluan people speak a language similar to the people from Hawaii and Fiji. Thank you!

My ducks plant vegetables

Toy duck planters

Seed planting toy ducks

Today, I am planting the seeds of native vegetable and fruit plants. My dad made me these special, toy ducks out of barn wood for planting seeds. They are five, cute yellow ducks in two rows! When I pull the wooden ducks they dig the dirt, plant and then cover the seeds with soil in my beautiful vegetable garden.

Stinky fish breath

Myles the Cairn Terrier

Myles carrying a stinky fish

Eeeew! Today, Myles jumped in the stream and got a fish. He was carrying the fish in his mouth everywhere. It was very funny! He even put the fish down on the rug by my dad’s favorite chair in our living room. His breath stinks like a million billion fish, but I still love him. And for some reason all the stinkiness made me laugh uncontrollably.
